British pianist Ashley Fripp has given solo, concerto and chamber music performances at many of the most prestigious venues throughout the UK, including the Royal Festival, Queen Elizabeth, Barbican, Wigmore, Cadogan, Bridgewater and Birmingham Symphony Halls. International invitations have taken him extensively throughout Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and Australia to such halls as the Carnegie Hall (New York), Musikverein Wien, Kölner Philharmonie, Palais des Beaux-Arts Brussels, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Cité de la Musique (Paris), the Megaron (Athens), the Laeiszhalle (Hamburg), Konserthuset (Stockh olm) and the L’auditori (Barcelona). National and international prizes include the coveted Gold Medal from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Diploma of Outstanding Merit at the 8th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, 1st Prize at the Brant International Piano Competition, The Worshipful Company of Musicians’ Prince’s Prize and Silver Medal, 1st Prize at the Royal Over-Seas League Piano Competition and 3rd Prize at the European Piano Competition (CEPOR). He has has also performed in the Edinburgh, Brighton, Chipping Campden and City of London Festivals and given live performances on BBC television and radio, Euroclassical, Radio Luxembourg, Musiq’3 and Eurovision TV. He has collaborated with a variety of well-known conductors including Semyon Bychkov, James Judd, Vasily Petrenko, Robertas Šervenikas and Peter Stark.
Ashley Fripp studied at the Purcell School and the Royal College of Music Junior Department with Emily Jeffrey. He recently graduated with a Masters distinction from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he was also awarded the Premier Prix and Lord Mayor’s Prize and is currently undertaking an Artist Diploma studying with Ronan O’Hora. Selected by the European Concert Halls Organisation onto their Rising Stars scheme, Ashley is currently undertaking a European-wide tour at many of the most illustrious venues throughout Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK. His recording of both Chopin Piano Concertos is available on the Spektral Records label. He gratefully recognises the generous financial support from the Craxton Memorial Trust and Kawai Pianos Ltd.
This is the opening concert in the 2015 series of St Barnabas Summer Proms, which will take place from Monday July 27th to Friday August 7th 2015, with 6 evening concerts , ending with a spectacular ‘Last Night of the Proms’ Gala Concert on Friday August 7th. The emphasis is on popular classics played by well-known musicians, providing perfect entertainment for summer evenings in Ealing. Concerts are held ‘in the round’, with the piano and musicians in the centre of the nave, so everyone is reasonably close to the performers. We have a superb Bosendorfer concert grand, used by the BBC at Maida Vale studios for broadcasts, and a state-of-the-art projection system and big screen so that everyone can see the musicians at close quarters. Admission for each evening concert will be £10 (£5 for young people), except for the Opera Gala (£15) and the ‘Last Night’ Gala (£20). No tickets will be sold beforehand – just turn up ! The church is very large and admission is guaranteed to all events. There is ample free parking in nearby streets. All proceeds will go towards St Barnabas church funds. Thank you for your support.

Location : St Barnabas church’s address is Pitshanger Lane, London W5 1QG. It is situated on the corner of Pitshanger Lane and Denison Road. Parking is readily available in neighbouring streets, with no parking restrictions. The nearest tube station is Ealing Broadway (on the Central and District Lines). From Ealing Broadway, use the E2 or E9 bus services. Taxis are also available outside the station.
