23 : Old photographs

Here are a few old photographs of the east end of the church, which are generally undated but indicate the clarity of the apse painting (even in black-and-white photographs) in early years.  Interestingly, there seem to be no early photographs of the west end of the church!

Here are photos from the 1960’s showing the new altar, after the fire in 1962.

 

 

Here are two old photos of the exterior of the church. The first pre-dates the war memorial, erected in 1921.
